Katie Hopkins has thanked emergency services in South Africa after she apparently collapsed after taking medication.

The controversial columnist and TV personality posted a picture on Twitter showing her receiving treatment while lying down on the floor.

She wrote: “Grateful thanks to the South African emergency services for putting me back together.

“Leaving it all on the road, to tell the truths not being told.

“*ketamine 1 / Hopkins 0).”

Hopkins, 42, later lashed out at the media, criticising the way the story had been reported.

Sharing images of press requests for further information about her use of ketamine, she wrote: “Dear British Press.

“Ten days of reports on the murder of white farmers and NOT ONE WORD from you.

“I receive medical ketamine for a serious dislocation & you salivate like dogs over meat.

“SHAME ON YOU.”

According to the NHS website, ketamine is a powerful anaesthetic used both in humans and animals.

Representatives for Hopkins have been contacted for comment.
