Kelvin Fletcher’s wife sends heartfelt message ahead of Strictly final
Emma Barton, Karim Zeroual and Fletcher will dance for the Glitterball trophy this weekend.
Kelvin Fletcher’s wife said she falls in love with him “over and over again” each time she sees him dance.
The soap star is married to his childhood sweetheart, fellow actor Liz Marsland, and she appeared in a pre-recorded message during the final episode of this series of Strictly spin-off It Takes Two.
She said: “Kelvin is incredibly generous, unbelievably hard-working and he is our absolute world. He is completely everything to us.
“I just fall in love with him over and over again every time I see him dance. Me and the kids, we are so proud of him.”
Fletcher, 35, dabbed at his eyes with a tissue as he struggled to hold back tears.
EastEnders actress Emma Barton, 42, and CBBC star Karim Zeroual, 26, will compete against Fletcher during this Saturday’s glittering finale.
Both finalists cried during emotional appearances on the show.
Zeroual cried after being shown a video of his family.
He said: “(They have) been everything. It’s only been now that – because we work so hard and have so much fun – it’s only times when I see that where it’s like, whoa. It’s a lot. Sorry.”
Barton dabbed at her eyes as she was shown footage of her mother telling her: “Go get that Glitterball – we love you.”
Asked what her family’s support meant to her, she replied: “Everything. They have loved every minute. I am so glad they have been able to come every week.
“My beautiful niece and nephew. They have found a love of dancing themselves. When they get home from school they are dancing in the kitchen and sending me videos of them doing it.”
And moments into her interview on the show, professional dancer Oti Mabuse, who is paired with Fletcher, had begun to cry.
The three remaining couples will each perform three times during the grand finale – a judges’ pick dance, their own favourite routine from the series and a new showdance.
Their favourite routine was revealed during Friday night’s show.
Zeroual will repeat the jive to You Can’t Stop The Beat from Hairspray, Barton will dance the Viennese waltz to the musical song Send In The Clowns, and Fletcher will dance their samba to La Vida Es Un Carnaval by Celia Cruz from week one.
Reigning champion Stacey Dooley quipped on Twitter that she was ready to hand over the crown.
She said: “GOOOOOD LUCK GANG. I’m polishing the crown…(not in a dirty way) ready to hand over.”
Strictly Come Dancing continues on BBC One.
