Diversity dancer and Dancing On Ice judge Ashley Banjo has announced the birth of his second child.

The TV star, who welcomed son Micah Grace with wife Francesca, said that their new addition is a “little ray of light in a dark and uncertain time” as he was born in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.

Banjo, 31, posted a picture of himself and Francesca cradling their newborn on Instagram.

He wrote: “On Thursday the 26th March at 6.45pm our son came into the world weighing a healthy 8lbs 15oz. His name is Micah Grace Banjo…

“Our son, our little ray of light in a dark and uncertain time.

“@francescabanjo and I love him with the deepest part of our hearts.”

The new arrival for Banjo and his wife comes just over a year after they welcomed their first child together.

The couple’s daughter Rose was born in February last year.

Banjo rose to fame as part of dance troupe Diversity, which won Britain’s Got Talent in 2009.

He has since carved out a career on TV, and has been a judge on Sky dancing programme Got To Dance. In 2018 he joined Dancing On Ice as a judge.

Banjo has also hosted programmes including Channel 4 dating show Flirty Dancing, and BBC game show Can’t Touch This.
