Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins viewers have praised Tony Bellew for being “honest” after he was eliminated from the programme.

The former boxer exited the competition after failing to share information about his fellow contestants during an interrogation in the final episode of the Channel 4 programme.

After being eliminated from the show, he told chief instructor Ant Middleton: “I just can’t snitch, mate.”

His actions were praised by viewers on social media.

One Twitter user wrote: “Tony Bellew taking a bullet for the team because he’s no snitch.

“He’s handled himself so well throughout this.”

Another said: “Tony Bellew is a credit to himself and he has fought some massive demons and learnt some huge life lessons in the last eight days.”

Watching him was a “pleasure”, added another Twitter user, who labelled him an “honest man”.

After being told by Middleton that he was leaving the programme, Bellew said that the experience had “changed what I want to do with my life going forward”.

He added: “Going home, I’ve got so many things I’m going to change and sort out. So much stuff.

“So I’m just going to change my life.”

Rudimental DJ Locksmith and Paralympian Lauren Steadman were the celebrities to pass the condensed SAS selection course in Monday’s final.

They saw off competition from Bellew, soap actress Nikki Sanderson, reality star Joey Essex and TV presenter Helen Skelton.
