Lady Gaga’s album outselling rest of top 20 combined
Chromatica is the singer’s first album since 2016.
Lady Gaga’s Chromatica is outselling the rest of the top 20 albums in the UK chart put together.
The album is currently on course to become the singer’s fourth chart-topping album in the UK, according to the Official Charts Company.
Last week Gaga’s single Rain On Me, which she recorded with Ariana Grande, topped the singles chart and scored the biggest opening week for streaming numbers by an all-female collaboration.
Chromatica has recorded 40,000 chart sales so far this week and has already become 2020’s fastest-selling vinyl album based on three days of sales.
Three songs from the album – Rain On Me, Sour Candy and Alice – are also currently on track to be in the top 40 of the singles chart this week.
In the chart rankings, Gaga’s album currently sits above KSI’s Dissimulation, which is second, and Dua Lipa’s Future Nostalgia, which is third.
Chromatica, which had its original release date pushed because of coronavirus, is Gaga’s sixth album and her first since 2016.
The final top 40 will be unveiled on BBC Radio 1’s Official Chart with Scott Mills on Friday from 4pm.
