Vigil tells the story of a conspiracy that ‘threatens the very heart of Britain’s nuclear deterrent’.
Suranne Jones is seen for the first time as DCI Amy Silver in imagery from Vigil, the new BBC One thriller from the makers of Line Of Duty and Bodyguard.
The Gentleman Jack star is pictured alongside Endeavour’s Shaun Evans in character as chief petty officer Elliot Glover.
The picture was taken earlier this year before production was halted due to Covid-19 and is being released after filming on the six-part drama resumed earlier this week near Glasgow.
Game Of Thrones stars Stephen Dillane and Daniel Portman, Riviera’s Lolita Chakrabarti and Lorne MacFadyen from Grantchester have also joined the cast.
Stephen McCole, Tom Gill, Lois Chimimba, Anita Vettesse, Bobby Rainsbury, Cristian Ortega and Lauren Lyle will also feature.
They join the previously announced cast which includes Game Of Thrones’ Rose Leslie, Bodyguard’s Anjli Mohindra, Line Of Duty’s Martin Compston, Peep Show’s Paterson Joseph and Doctor Foster’s Adam James.
Vigil tells the story of how the mysterious disappearance of a Scottish fishing trawler and a death on board a Trident nuclear submarine bring the police into conflict with the Navy and security services.
Jones, who is playing DCI Silva, leads an investigation into a conspiracy that “threatens the very heart of Britain’s nuclear deterrent”, according to the BBC.
The show is written by Bafta-nominated writer Tom Edge and produced by World Productions, which is part of ITV Studios and brought the hit series Line Of Duty and Bodyguard to the BBC.
There are also episodes by Ed Macdonald and Chandni Lakhani.
It is directed by Bafta-winner James Strong, who worked on Broadchurch, as well as Shetland’s Isabelle Sieb.
