Join the acclaimed Pantaloons on June 23 for their take on Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

The performance kicks off Attingham’s programme of Summer Evenings of Entertainment, with an open air production of Peter Pan, and two evenings of outdoor film showings taking place during the summer at this popular National Trust property.

The Pantaloons are a cast of just five actor-musicians playing all the roles and audiences can expect plenty of quick-changes and larger-than- life characters in this classic tale. This fast-paced production is sure to put a smile on even the glummest face; with audience interaction, contemporary references, slapstick and original live music all nestled comfortably within Shakespeare’s beautiful verse.

Bring a picnic blanket or low-back seating and settle down at the front of the mansion for this special open air theatre performance. This year Attingham celebrates 70 years of the National Trust stewardship of the estate, and throughout 2017 the property is looking back on events and developments that took place during these decades. #

Rebekah Ingham, events officer at Attingham Park said: "Back in 1951 the Shropshire Drama Society performed a Midsummer Night’s Dream in front of the mansion – we’re recreating this with a comedy twist in 2017 with the fantastic Pantaloon.’

Tickets for the play, which starts at 7pm, cost £15 per adult and £10 per child. To book tickets call 01743 708170 or online at www.nationaltrust.org.uk/attingham-park/whats-on.

Later in the summer, the National Trust property will also be hosting Chapterhouse Theatre Company as they perform J M Barrie’s tale of Peter Pan on August 4.

Tickets are £15 per adult, £10 per child, and a ticket for two adults and two children costs £44. Tickets will be available to book via the website from the end of this month.

Late summer will see two nights of QUAD’s Summer Nights Film Festival, with a screening of La La Land (12a) on September 8 and Breakfast at Tiffany’s (PG) on September 9. Early bird tickets for these films are on sale now until June 1 at a price of £11 per adult and £7 for under 12s.
