Choir to perform at Shrewsbury church
Shrewsbury Cantata Choir, conducted by Marianne Ayling, will be performing a concert titled The Sound of Summer at Holy Trinity Church, Meole Brace, Shrewsbury on June17 at 7.30pm.
"Our concert is a celebration of summer," said Nicola Pacult an alto from the choir. ‘We’ll be singing music for when the shadows are long on the grass, some of the most lovely songs that have ever been written, music from different times and places. This year, Shrewsbury Cantata Choir have set themselves to out-sing the nightingale, so if there are any nightingales in Meole they’ll have some competition. We aim to capture the stillness of a summer evening, so please come and join us."
Tickets are £10 (students and under 18s free) and are available via the choir website - www.shrewsburycantatachoir.org.uk, from choir members, or on the door, and can be reserved by emailing roger.h.terry@gmail.com.
There’s a glass of wine in the interval.
