Shrewsbury blues boys head for Spain
A band of Shropshire blues rockers are getting ready to tour Spain.
The Rainbreakers, a four piece from Shrewsbury who play a mix of blues, rock and soul will be taking a step up in their musical career as they undertake their first tour outside the UK – and will be playing a farewell gig in their home town before they head out on the road again.
The band, which consists of Ben Edwards on vocals, Sam Edwards on drums, Charlie Richards on lead guitar and Pete Adams on bass, have been performing together across the country at a variety of venues in recent months, including the newly refurbished Borderline in the heart of London to multiple festivals across the UK in front of thousands.
Now the group's hard work and determination has been rewarded with a tour of Spain. For the first time they will touring across the country for three weeks performing their self penned songs.
They will be heading out in the second week of September and coming back at he beginning of October.
Ben said: "Obviously we are all really excited to be given this opportunity . We cant wait to get in the van and travel across Spain. Not only do we get to do what we love doing but we also get to travel across a beautiful country."
As well as going abroad for the first time with their music they have also been asked to take part in the UK Blues Challenge in Liverpool at the iconic Cavern venue made famous by The Beatles.
If they are chosen they will be taken onto the European Finals to represent the UK but also onto the international finals that are held in Memphis USA.
They will be performing a pre-tour party show at Albert's Shed on Castle Street.
Ben said: "Albert's Shed has become a real hub to the local music scene. The gig will be held on the September 6 at 7pm and all tickets purchased will include entry to the after party."
