Doggy dress-up: Dachshunds in creepy costumes take over Shrewsbury's Quarry for Halloween walkabout
More than 100 sausage dogs and their owners made a dash for the Quarry in Shrewsbury for a spooky Halloween-themed walk.
In an event organised by the Shrewsbury Sausage Social Facebook group, dozens of dachshunds, known for their long bodies and little legs, came to the park to take part, and many of the four-legged visitors to the Quarry were all dressed for the occasion.
Organiser Paula Costin said the group had been going since 2019 and holds regular seasonal walks but the popularity of the breed has seen the club, which has hundreds of members, continue to grow.
She said: "It started in other areas of the country where people began these sausage dog walks. I took over here a couple of years ago and it has gone from strength to strength.
"We had a big turn-out today, over 100 owners and dogs, and the weather was beautiful."
