The Ludlow Spring Festival is celebrating its 10th birthday this year and organisers have lined-up some of the counties very best food and drink producers to celebrate.

The event opens at 5pm on May 11 for a Meet the Brewer evening, then the festival runs over Saturday and Sunday.

It is the little sister of September's main food festival and has a focus on food, beer, classic cars and live music.

Hannah Mackley said: "We have around 50 of the very best breweries from Shropshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, and Wales all bringing their amazing range of bitters, porters, milds, ales and stouts to the festival.

"You can expect more than 200 thirst quenching varieties to choose from, but as with any beer festival once they’re gone, they’re gone. So if you can, why not think about getting the weekend off to the best start and join us on Friday evening between 5pm and 9pm when we’ll have beer, live music and food - a great start to the weekend."

Visitors can also learn how to become a master cocktail mixologist with Bridgnorth-based Phillip Jeffery who has worked in 5 star establishments in both London and Sydney.

The event incorporates the Marches Transport Festival which showcases about 150 classic cars in the backdrop of Ludlow Castle. This year Land Rover is celebrating 70 years of the Defender and there will be examples from 40 years of its illustrious history.
