Enginuity in Coalbrookdale has once again been home to the Meccanuity Exhibition, one of the largest displays of Meccano in the country.

The exhibition is now in its 16th year, but has drawn huge crowds to have a look at the creations.

Working models created by Telford and Ironbridge Meccano Society were on display throughout the May Day Bank Holiday.

Traditional models on display included giant cranes, pattern-drawing machines, fairground rides and clocks, to mention just a few.

David Bradley, chairman of the society, who has been working with Meccano for 43 years said the event had been very enjoyable.

He said: "It seems to have gone very well, we've had a few people in.

"We've nearly filled the museum with models. The exhibition attracts people of all ages."

This year's was an extra special event as it was tied in to the Ironbridge Gorge Museum’s 50th anniversary celebrations.

Sunday saw the return of the Meccanuity Challenge, this year called The Many Legs of Meccanuity Race, where different machines that can either walk or run were challenged to tow a trailer filled with weights.

Every year exhibitors also compete for the John Linder Memorial Shield, commemorating one of the founder members of the Telford and Ironbridge Meccano Society. This year, the shield was awarded for the most eye catching model.
