Thousands of people have flocked to the popular Oakengates Carnival to enjoy the music and funfair rides.
Attractions at the show included the float procession through the streets to the show arena in Hartshill Park, off Hartshill Road, a bike display, Leo's Circus and tombola.
There were several bands and singers and tribute acts and Indigo machine.
In addition there were wrestling games, inflatable football, plenty of stalls and the ever popular children's rides.
Among the stars of the of the show was this year's carnival queen Teegan Beevers, aged 16, who recently moved to Telford from South Africa with her family.
The Abraham Darby Academy pupil looked radiant in her lovely white gown and sash. She was joined in the parade by the princess Naomi Barton, maid Rogue Clarkson, attendant Emily Robinson and the prince Canaan Marsh.
"It's a huge opportunity to be carnival queen and to be able to introduce myself to the people at these fantastic Oakengates celebrations. It's been a great show and the vibe is just amazing as well. I'm really looking forward to meeting more people at various other events this year. I will be doing whatever the carnival committee wants me to do," Teegan says.
Guests at the event included the new Mayor of Telford Councillor Stephen Reynolds and his wife Councillor Shirley Reynolds who both praised residents for turning out in droves to support the summer extravaganza.
"It's absolutely amazing. The weather is good and people have again come out to make it a great success. Oakensgates is the largest and the best carnival in the Shropshire area. There is nothing to touch it for miles round. It is an outstanding event.
"I must say a huge thank you to the carnival committee becuae withoust those people it would not come off. They do this because they care about the community," the mayor said.
Oakengates Carnival committee chairman Jules Sanders had expected a bumper crowd out for the fifth show since it was relaunched in 2013.
"For the first time in 2016 we ran the show over two days because it takes a week to set up the site and it seemed a shame to only have it for one day. In addition, a lot of people are unable to make it on the Saturday due to work commitments, but will call in on the last day to support the carnival and we didn't want them to miss out."
He organises the event along with vice chairwoman Sue Walls, members Alan Richardson, Debbie Slaven Higgingbottom, Amy Powell, Amanda Lowe and now, this year, joined by Claire Mckeown.
The show continues today.
