Tickets sales soar for Peter Pan at Oakengates Theatre
Tickets for pantomime are selling faster than last year – oh, yes they are.
Peter Pan, set to take place at Oakengates Theatre this winter, is already proving popular, with members of the public quickly snapping up their seats.
It's sold more tickets than last year's Sleeping Beauty had by this point. The show starred veteran comedian Bernie Clifton and Wink Taylor from CITV's The Sooty Show.
Russell Griffin, of Telford & Wrekin Council, said: "Ticket sales for Peter Pan are up on last year in comparison with the same time.
"Peter Pan is the most popular pantomime of all time, so we're expecting it to be popular."
Three sets of two young boys have also been picked to play the Darling boys – Wendy's younger brothers.
All from Telford, the lads will appear on stage alongside Peter Pan Thomas J Redgrave, of Britain's Got Talent's winning boy band Collabro, Jonas Cemm as Captain Hook and Steve Boyce as Mrs Smee.
The show, which is staged by Shone Productions, also stars comedy actor Adam Kelly as Mr Smee, singer Charlotte Griffiths as Tiger Lily, Georgina Newton as Tinkerbell, and Rebecca Seyhan as Wendy.
The cast, including the young Telford lads, are set to start rehearsals on November 29.
Swashbuckling high jinx, plenty of singing and plenty of slapstick comedy will be on offer when the pantomime kicks off later this year.
Peter Pan is on from December 6 to 31 at The Place, Oakengates. Tickets are available from the box office on 01952 382382 or at theplacetelford.com
