Bosses at Oakengates Theatre said that reaction to Pantomania had been fantastic, and that they were looking forward to the final two shows of the season.

There will be a 2pm performance and a 6pm performance of the show, which is an adaption of Dick Whittington written for Telford’s 50th anniversary.

Debbie King, theatre manager, said: “Pantomimes are traditionally a Christmas production but for 2018 we wanted to do something different that people would remember to celebrate both Telford’s and Oakengates Theatre’s 50th birthday.

“Pantomania has been an excellent production and a huge hit with audiences, receiving lots of excellent reviews over the last week.

“We are delighted that people have enjoyed our very first Easter pantomime as much as we had hoped.”

The pantomime tells the story of Dick Donnington as he leaves Telford in search of fame and fortune.

Every detail is inspired by Telford’s rich history, with characters named after areas of the borough.

Ian Billings is a favourite with panto fans locally, having written and starred in a number of productions at Oakengates and across the region.

Fellow star Phil Butler is another Telford favourite, having performed in multiple shows at The Place.

The two are supported by West End veteran Chris Cuming and respected producer Ben Millerman, as well as established actor Philip Meeks.

Tickets are still available for the shows.
