The former newsreader will speak at Enginuity Museum, Coalbrookdale, on November 2.

A British Red Cross spokeswoman said: "Angela has kindly taken time out from her busy filming schedule to tell us about her career which has taken her far and wide and promises an incredibly interesting evening.

"Angela has been a familiar face and voice of British Broadcasting for over 40 years for both radio and television and was the first woman journalist newsreader in 1975.

"Her programmes have included Rip Off Britain, Come Dancing, Top Gear, and memorably her appearances on Morecombe and Wise Christmas Shows.

"Angela is a vice president of the British Red Cross and was awarded an OBE in 2004 for services to Charity and the Arts and CBE in 2017 for services to Dementia Care.

"We will also be hearing about the work of the British Red Cross, Past and Present from Dr Alisdair Brooks who is the Heritage Manager for the Red Cross in London, he has the fascinating job of looking after original artefacts in the Museum and Archive Collections which span the entire history of the organisation from its formation to the present day."

The ticket only event will be held at Enginuity Museum, Coach Rd, Coalbrookdale, TF8 7DQ at 7pm. Tickets are £30 each and include a drink and canapés.
