Attractions on Good Friday include re-enactments featuring actors dressed as Roman soldiers and other characters from the Bible stories about the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ at the site, in Old Vicarage Rd, Dawley, Telford, TF4 3NH.

Parishioners have also built a life-sized version of a tomb similar to the one it is believed Jesus was laid in and this has been the centrepiece for a series of Easter experiences events for hundreds of children from schools in the area.

Holy Trinity's grounds will be open from 10am to midday on Good Friday and plenty of parking is available.

Dawley Christian Centre will be open at 11am for reflective time.

Dawley Baptist Church, also in High Street, will host a cafe event.

While at Southwater an outdoor event will be outside Meeting Point House from 11am to 3pm.

At St Mary's, in Ketley, there will be a 60-minute service at 2pm.

On Sunday worshippers from across Telford Central parish will holding a special Easter Sunrise Service at 6.30am including songs, readings and prayers which will be broadcast live by BBC Radio Shropshire.

Rev Tim Storey, the Rector of Dawley and Central Telford Parish said: “The aim of this service is to experience something of what it must have felt like to be at the empty tomb on that first Easter Day and to discover in the early morning light that that the stone was rolled away. We hope that many will come along and join us and experience Easter in a special way."
