Entertainers and businesses encouraged to help celebrate High Street
Telford's high streets will host a celebration of shopping later this summer to mark shops reopening.
Telford & Wrekin Council is planning an event on July 10 across the borough. Newport is among the towns taking part.
Councillor Peter Scott of Newport said: "They are looking for local shops and organisations to get together to make it a special day. If you run a shop you might want to have a stall on the pavement, The Square or the Buttercross?
"Local entertainers might want to perform; open mic, buskers, an interactive activity, a promotion?
"We need to know what interest there is by May 28 so please contact the town clerk through the Newport Town Council website or call 01952 814338."
