The play, written by Eric Idle, is a musical comedy adapted from the 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Spamalot, which features misfit knights, killer rabbits, dancing nuns and ferocious Frenchmen, was the winner of the 2005 Tony Award for Best New Musical while it enjoyed a victorious West End run.

The new tour is produced by the award winning Selladoor Productions and Mercury Theatre Colchester.

Spamalot will come to Birmingham's New Alexandra Theatre from October 3 to 7.
