They won the NODA National Operatic and Dramatic Association Awards for their production of ‘Robin and the Sherwood Hoodies’ last year.

At the same awards ceremony Bridgnorth Musical Theatre Company won Best Musical 2016 with their production of ‘Fiddler on the Roof’.

Bridgnorth Stage Academy are currently in rehearsal for this year’s summer production ‘The Amazing Adventures of Super Stan’ to be performed at Bridgnorth Endowed Leisure Centre at 7pm June 24 and 2pm on June 25.

Tickets are £10 each and are on sale at Tea and Roses tea rooms in Bridgnorth High Street.

Alison Pipe, spokeswoman for Bridgnorth Stage Academy, said: "Meet the world's newest, greatest and most unlikely Superhero in Craig Hawes' comical musical that is packed with muscle and marvel.

"Stanley Marvel may be the clumsiest clot in Megaville, but he is happy to read his comics and dream his life away. That is until it's turned upside-down when he discovers that local hero, The Candy King, is actually a Super-Villain determined to conquer the world with his corrupt confectionery.

"Can Superstan crush The Candy King and save the planet? Find out in this funtastic adventure as our hapless Superhero flies by the seat of his pants, faster than a speeding paper aeroplane, and learns that with great power comes great hilarity."

Bridgnorth Musical Theatre Company meanwhile is also in rehearsal for their next production which is Victoria Wood’s ‘Acorn Antiques The Musical’ to be performed at Broseley’s Birchmeadow Centre from 12-15 July.
