Kapari Natural Resort, Santorini

Getting married in October left us with limited options for our honeymoon. However, we’d heard that the best time to visit Santorini is October – and how true that is.

We stayed at the five-star Kapari Natural Resort in Imerovigli which was perfect; total luxury, amazing food, quiet and romantic.

The infinity pool

Arriving at the hotel late at night, we were taken to our cosy, cave-like room with a black Jacuzzi bathroom, and instantly fell in love with the place. Although it was late, we were greeted with a local lovely sweet dessert wine, made from sun-dried grapes.

Our love for Santorini and the hotel grew even more the following morning when we opened the door of our room to a spectacular view of the Caldera, sea and blue sky.

We made our way along a cute path to the hotel restaurant to be seated on their open terrace for breakfast. Every day we were amazed by the view from there. And the food didn’t disappoint either. As well as fresh bread and pastries, there’s a full buffet; we especially enjoyed the eggs with Parma ham and pancakes with honey and nuts.

The other meals at Kapari Natural Resort was also exceptional, with dishes made from local and fresh ingredients. The exceptional service of the staff must also be mentioned, not just in the restaurant but in the hotel as a whole.

We don’t usually eat in the same place twice while on holiday however, we couldn’t resist returning to the hotel restaurant three times during our week-long break. On one evening we dined on the terrace again, enjoying the stunning sunset; the staff were very helpful in booking us in at the optimum time to enjoy this.

Imerovigli is ideal for a honeymoon or couples get away; it’s beautiful, quiet and romantic. The most popular – and photographed – area of the island is Oia but it’s very busy, even in October and the infamous sunset view spots can get very crowded. It didn’t have the same charm as Imerovigli. The island is small and only takes around 30 minutes to travel its length. We hired a quad bike to make the most of it.

Overall it was a perfect hotel, in a perfect location. I don’t say it often, but I can’t wait to go back. I don’t think

I can sum it up any better than the hotel’s wifi password
