Beauty review: Facial? Get on the CACI – The Hairshop, Eastgate Street, Stafford

Getting old is no fun and when it comes to looking in the mirror, it can be rather revealing. Seeing more lines appearing and firmness disappearing can leave you feeling a little disheartened.

There are all sorts of lotions to help combat the signs of ageing but sometimes it feels like they’re not quite enough. If you don’t want to go to the extremes of having surgery there is another method you can try.

The CACI Ultra Non-Surgical treatment uses microcurrent technology to send out tiny electrical impulses which lift and tone the facial muscles and the neck area, improving skin elasticity and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The treatment ends with the CACI Hydro Mask infused with rose water, hyaluronic acid and collagen to provide skin with an extra boost of hydration to give it a plump effect.

At £75 for 90 minutes it’s not cheap but it claims that the results are visible after just one treatment and after a course you can expect to see a more youthful and toned appearance with healthy, glowing skin. I was intrigued especially since celebrity fans include Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Aniston and Emma Stone. So I ventured to the Hairshop on Eastgate Street in Stafford for a session.

It began with an exfoliation and then the main treatment. It was an odd sensation and, on occasion, I could feel tiny pulses running through my skin. Therapist Jo began by tackling my jowls which luckily, as I’ve not quite reached the age where they are an issue, wasn’t too big a job. It was a nice massage around my neck, an area usually neglected by my skincare routine. She used the forks to rub into my skin moving up to my cheeks and then around my eyes and my forehead area.

The refreshing rose face pack was the ultimate relaxing end to quite a firm facial. Looking in the mirror, my skin did look lifted and plumper and the slightly loose and grey appearance had disappeared. Even a few days later I was clinging on to my more youthful looking complexion. It’s pricey to maintain the results and you would need to have regular sessions, but it’s definitely worth it.
