Shropshire Gift Appeal: Hundreds of presents handed over to Hope House Children's Hospice
Dozens of Christmas presents donated by Shropshire Star readers have been handed over to a children's hospice.
The gifts were donated by readers as part of our Christmas Gift Appeal, which has seen more than a thousand toys and games split between several good causes.
The latest batch were handed over to Hope House Children's Hospice at our appeal partners Storage King in Shrewsbury yesterday.
They will be handed out to children who are preparing to spend Christmas at the hospice in Morda, near Oswestry, this year.
Area fundraiser Sarah Johnson says: "The appeal is very important to the children as play forms a vital part of their day.
"The children spend a lot of time playing and toys can also play an important role in helping with the children's development.
"The age range of the children means that all types of toys are appreciated from multi-sensory toys through to DVDs and computer games."
All types of gifts from games to DVDs and confectionary to toiletries were handed over by readers as part of the appeal.
Shropshire Star editor Martin Wright added: "Hope House is a wonderful charity and we are proud to be able to help its work once again."
