The author is Joanne Phillips, who is from Whixall, and her Flora Lively series of mysteries is set right here in Shropshire. A Date with Death is the second in the series, and the action takes place in the area around the Stiperstones, with a murder on a film set throwing Flora Lively into her role of amateur detective once again.
"The first book in the series, Murder at the Maples, has been hugely popular with local readers, and was based in Shrewsbury," said Jo.
