Looking out through the window of my warm and toasty lounge on to a cold, wet and windy night, I questioned my sanity on planning an hour's drive from Telford to St Martin's to test out The Greyhound Inn, writes Cathy Stanworth.

But I'm so glad I made the trip.

Picking up my sister-in-law on the way, at the end of our journey, we found a warm and welcoming pub, with friendly, smiling staff and a completely packed-out dining room.

The lady behind the bar gave us a big smile and took our drinks order before pointing the way to our table for two in the corner. She suggested we view the specials board. In fact there were two of them – a fish board and a main specials board.
