Quiz night to aid Newport school's Borneo trio
A Newport schoolgirl is challenging teams to take part in a quiz to help raise money for her school's Borneo expedition next summer.
Around 20 students from Burton Borough School will be taking part in the expedition and Ashleigh Moore has decided to help raise the group's profile.
The 15-year-old regularly attends quizzes at the Royal British Legion and thought it would be a good way to do some fundraising.
Ashleigh said: "We have been training really hard for the expedition and we are really looking forward to it.
"I go to the quiz on a regular basis and we normally have about six teams, but I am hoping to have more on Saturday as we have been advertising it more.
"In total there are about 20 of us, from year 10 and 11, taking part in the expedition - that's not including the teachers.
"We will take on the challenge next summer once all the Year 11s have completed their GCSE exams.
"Also at the quiz there will be a raffle and cake sale, we are just hoping to raise our profile."
The quiz takes place this Saturday at the Royal British Legion club in Newport. Doors open at 7pm and the quiz will start at 8pm. It is £10 per team of up to five per team. Players can turn up on the night.
