Pc killed on duty in road smash
A police motorcyclist from near Llangollen has died in a road crash on the A5. Constable Ric Gostage, 46, a father-of-three, was called a "great police officer" by his bosses.
He was on duty, travelling between Wrexham and Colwyn Bay, at the time of the accident on Thursday.
Mr Gostage, from Trevor, leaves a wife Ann and three children, Rebecca, 21, Rachel, 19, and Sam eight.
"Richard was a much-loved family man who will be much missed by his family and friends. He was our love, our life our everything,"said the family in a statement.
Detective Chief Superintendent Chris Corcoran, of North Wales police, said: "Ric was a great police officer who will be much missed by his friends and colleagues within the division and across the force.
"Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time."
