Trying to trace war veterans
I am searching for soldiers who fought in the bloody battle for a place called Keren in Eritea at the beginning of 1914 so as to complete my research into this battle through the eyes of those who took part in this vital conflict.

This battle was as brutal and costly in human lives as the battle for Monte Cassino in Italy some years later.
Some of the regiments that took part were the West Yorkshires, Worcestershires, Camerons, Highland Light Infantry and Royal Fusiliers.
