Our regular contributor Paul France has e-mailed us this picture and tells us: "The building is the old Nuway factory at Coalport - home of Coalport China until 1926."

The back of the photo says: "Two 60ft by 3ft by 1ins link runners for the Holland-America Line. These mats each weigh 3cwts and are for the gangway of the SS Nieuw Amsterdam, flagship of the Holland-America Line.

"They were supplied in October 1947. The link mats were made from reprocessed lorry tyres.

"Nuway Manufacturing Co Ltd were at the site from 1926 until 1991 when they moved to their present site in Halesfield. The lady second from the left is Kath Shepherd from Garmston, and third from the left is, I think, Lucy Bowen from the bungalows in Jackfield."
