Couple revel in 007 glamour
Shropshire's Tony Berrill and Dawn Thacker today described their red carpet makeover for the premiere of the new James Bond movie as "unforgettable". Check out our online photo gallery of their big night.
Some of the top names in Shropshire style helped to give the special couple a new look after they clinched a host of top prizes in our Casino Royale competition.
The pair, dressed to impress, headed to the black tie event in Birmingham on Wednesday evening where they joined a host of stars. They were taken to the Odeon cinema in a stretch limo by the Big Limo Company which organises trips across the Midlands.
But first they were given a glittering new look to match the occasion.
"I will never forget it because it was the most fantastic experience," said Dawn who had nominated her partner of nine years for our competition because of Tony's love for action and adventure.
Tony headed to Peter Posh in Telford, specialists in men's formal wear, to be kitted out in a suave and sophisticated white dinner jacket so he would look the part of the red carpet.
Meanwhile Dawn was given extra special attention by Yvonne Griffith at Renaissance in Newport which has recently welcomed the arrival of a fabulous partywear collection featuring stunning designer frocks.
"Yvonne and Heather at Renaissance were so helpful, they made it such a pleasant experience to choose the dress," said Dawn. "Everyone was dressed up at the premiere but I think I had the best dress."
Then Dawn headed to Debenhams where personal shopper Shirley Griffiths came to aid to find matching shoes and handbag.
Her gorgeous tumbling hairstyle were created by Nikki Davies at Headmasters in Wellington.
"Nikki was amazing. It's the first time my hair has managed to retain its curl for a special occasion," she added.
Tony said the night out was extremely special. "We just couldn't believe we had won and want to thank everyone for looking after us so well."
