Killer in appeal on conviction
A Shropshire killer jailed for life for murdering and beheading a Shrewsbury man today began his appeal against the conviction. Trainee welder Julian Sanders, 20, was decapitated in the attack by Maurice John Latus, who then dumped his headless body in a Birmingham park. Latus, of Wroxeter, who was jailed for life after being convicted of murder at Chester Crown Court in 2003, appeared at the Royal Courts of Justice in London today.
