Arrogance paving way

There are so many issues here that it is difficult to decide in what order to enumerate them.

Essentially there are too many dwellings and too few parking spaces in too small area. Added to this is the destruction of a beautiful urban shopping and community centre surrounded and interspersed by trees. This community area should be prized, valued and emulated - not destroyed.

I would describe this as environmental vandalism, and the whole population should rise up and make such a stink that it will be halted in its tracks. If the borough council gets away with this, no green area will be safe.

Government policy is, of course, responsible. It now dictates there will be one car parking place per dwelling, or even none at all. If anyone has visitors they will have nowhere to park. This will not be conducive to community harmony.

There seems to be a terrible arrogance at the borough council, epitomised in the way peoples' opinions are ignored.

We have examples at Haybridge Road, Trench Lock, Ketley, and Bennett's Bank.

Telford is one of the most attractive areas in which to live, but we must safeguard it and not allow it to become concreted over.
