Wendy Legister from Kidderminster has just placed the unusual bet at William Hill's in the Bull Ring that her baby will arrive on the 29th, completing her sequence of births on the 26th, 27th and 28th.

The mother, of Kendlewood Road, Broadwaters rang the bookmaker to see if they would take a bet on her fourth child completing a family flush.

Lorraine, aged 19, was born on November 26, Coralie, aged 15, on April 27 and six-year-old Holly was born on November 28. They are all pictured with Wendy.

Wendy, a 38-year-old waitress, placed £29 on odds of 29/1 that her fourth baby will come up trumps on Friday. Doctors have said the baby is due on Wednesday, December 27, and William Hill stipulated there can be no inducement of the baby otherwise the bet is forfeited.

And if the baby arrives on Christmas Day Wendy and husband Michael will win £25 after the bookmakers gave them a free bet of £1 at odds of 25/1. That would complete the sequence as 25, 26, 27, and 28.

She said: "It wasn't until our second child was born that we realised the numbers followed each other.

"And when Holly was born on the 28th I thought it was very bizarre. So I am crossing everything that I am allowed to cross to make sure our latest addition arrives on time.

"Our first baby was a day early, the second four days late, the third was a day early so we are due a late one. I am very confident - it could keep us in a lot of nappies if we win the bet."

William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams, said: "If Wendy wins we fully expect her to get back in touch next year and have a bet on number five arriving on the 30th.

"The one stipulation that we have included in the bet is that the baby cannot be induced on the 29th for any reason other than medical. If this is the case she will need a doctor's note."
