The parents of Ellesmere teenager Hayley Jayne Roberts, who died in a road accident, today paid tribute to "their beautiful daughter" who "always put 110 per cent into living".

And they revealed part of her would live on with three people benefiting from her decision to join an organ donation register.

Hayley, 17, pictured, was the eldest daughter of Carl and Linda Roberts and sister to Phillip, 15, and 14-year-old Katie. She would have celebrated her 18th birthday this month.

She died on Friday after her car was involved in a collision with a Mitsubishi pick-up on the A495 between Ellesmere and Whittington.

A former pupil of Ellesmere Primary School and the Lakelands Secondary School, where she was deputy head girl, Hayley was studying A-levels at Walford and North Shropshire College. She had worked at Vermeulen's and Millard's shops in Ellesmere.

She was on her way to the college to do coursework when the accident happened.

Her parents said: "Whatever she did, giving 100 per cent was simply not good enough for Hayley. Her GCSE results, all As and A*s were the result of sheer, hard work, although she loved her time at Lakelands.

"She tried to cram everything into her life. No words are enough to express how beautiful a person she was. We are so proud to have been her parents."

Hayley excelled at sport and drama and played a large part in the local community.

She won a special Good Citizen's award for the service work she undertook for her Duke of Edinburgh award, helped run a sports club for younger children and took part in many drama productions both at school and as a member of the local amateur dramatic club.

She was a member of the college netball team, enjoyed salsa dancing and had completed a teacher's swimming course, helping to teach youngsters to swim.

"She loved young people and they loved her," her parents added.

Mrs Roberts said some of her friends had set up a touching internet tribute site to Hayley.

"Her friends have been incredibly supportive to all of us and we appreciate that support so much," she said.

Details of Hayley's funeral have yet to be finalised.
