Antiques expert David Dickinson was hoping to find some bobby-dazzlers today when he arrived in Shropshire.

Mr Dickinson was at the Nock Deighton salerooms in Bridgnorth to oversee an auction for his ITV programme, Dickinson's Real Deal.

In the show, members of the public take antiques to a panel of experts who then offer them a price or the option of selling them at auction.

Predict

The auction featured items brought to an event at Wolverhampton's Wulfrun Hall on February 10.

Mr Dickinson, who is known for his catchphrases "cheap as chips" and "what a bobby-dazzler", said it was difficult to predict how the auction would go.

"It is a mixture of collectabes, antiques and a bit of tat," he said. "All of our sellers have opted to go for the auction.

"Some of them will make money, some of them won't.

"Auctions are funny places, you can't tell what's going to happen as it is people competing against each other.

"I have never been to this area before but it seems a lovely place.

"We have done some filming in Shropshire before at Newport."

Auction manager and auctioneer at Nock Deighton, Mark Stafford-Lovatt, led the event with Mr Dickinson stood at the back of the room advising hopeful couples about their lots.

The auction was at the salerooms in Tasley, Bridgnorth.
