A good samaritan has donated a games console and dozens of games to a Market Drayton charity to replace those stolen in a burglary.
Mencap's centre for people with learning difficulties in Salisbury Hill was raided between 5.30pm on February 24 and midday on Saturday.
A brand new Xbox console and about £20 worth of chocolate and crisps from the tuck shop were stolen.
Now Gavin Rhodes, of Shrewsbury, has contacted police to say he has a replacement games console, along with 25 games, that he is happy to donate to the charity after reading about the burglary in the Shropshire Star.
Constable Karena Evans, of Market Drayton Police, today praised Mr Rhodes for his generosity.
She said: "It was a real blow to those who use the centre, but now they have been offered a replacement console by this kind-hearted man."
The new console will not be stored at the centre when it is not in use.
