It's never too early to think about your office Christmas do.

I mean, venues get booked up so early.

But this year I think we may have the perfect spot. Somebody has decided to submit a bid for a lapdancing club in Shrewsbury...and just a stone's throw from our Shropshire Star office!

Seems ideal...good music, dancing, fancy dress...being rejected by women in the club. Sounds like a Christmas do to me.

And don't think this will prevent the female members of staff from having a good time. Apparently the club will also feature men. In pouches.

Like all new clubs, if this gets the go-ahead it will need a Shropshire Star review. Oddly, we've had no shortage of volunteers. I know one photographer who'll be itching to do the pictures...

I tried to show my female colleagues some of the moves they could expect to see at this new club. They didn't seem impressed (you try pole dancing in a swivel chair...I'm lucky I didn't dislocate something).

So, no job for me at "The Castle Club". The women of Shropshire will be pleased.
