On Easter Monday my son and his girlfriend were out on the Wem to Northwood road when a Land Rover pulling a trailer coming in the opposite direction - in the middle of the road - collided with their car, causing it to veer off the road and land on its roof.

My son managed to free himself from his seatbelt and run up the road to stop oncoming traffic, although his girlfriend was still hanging upside down in the car, fortunately not injured.

But the Land Rover's driver would not have known this. He was seen to get out off his vehicle to check the trailer then drive off. He didn't even have the decency to shout and ask if everyone was OK.

As a parent I cannot believe the actions of this uncaring person. I hope that if anyone knows who this person may have been, or you had seen the incident, unlike him you will contact the police at Wem please on 0845 7444 888.

I would also like to say thank you to all the people who did stop or offer help to my son and his girlfriend on Easter Monday. It's good to know there are some decent people about.
