Plans for the installation of the turbine at Pontesbury, near Shrewsbury, are set to be discussed at the development control and environmental protection committee.
The turbine is a Windsave WS1000 model.
It has rotor blades measuring a diameter of 1.75 metres and will be mounted on the end of the home rising about 2.5 metres above the ridge line of the roof.
A report to councillors says Pontesbury Parish Council is in support of the move but that a nearby neighbour has raised concerns over the obstruction of the views of the distant hills.
The report says: "The property is located at the foot of Pontesbury Hill and whilst it is overlooked by a number of properties higher up the hill, these are all located a considerable distance away.
"The wind turbine will be on the north-facing gable end which faces away from properties along Pontesbury Hill."
Proposals for the wind turbine include it being a pebble grey colour to be sympathetic to the character and appearance of the home and the surrounding area.
The plans are recommended for approval subject to conditions controlling the colour of the turbine.
The Pontesbury resident is not the first to look at installing wind turbines.
Plans were also sent to the council earlier this month for a 2.4 metre high domestic wind turbine in a field next to Green Acres at Annscroft.
And members of the Bayston Hill Memorial Hall Committee are looking forward to installing a turbine on the village hall in Lyth Hill Road, Bayston Hill.
Domestic wind turbines are getting more popular as residents face rising energy prices.
As electricity becomes more expensive it is anticipated that more and more people will switch to wind power.
