This aerial view of the GKN Sankey works at Hadley isn't as old as many we carry in our Looking Back spot, but is still of great historic interest.

It was loaned to us by Telford historian Keith Beddoes and on the upper right hand side you can see the Trench Lock interchange taking shape - and also the remains of the old canal at Trench, part of which were obliterated by the new roundabout.

In fact on close examination of the picture part of the stretch, circled, running towards the works may even be in water.

The picture is, perhaps, from about 1980.
