Ferry and bridge on postcard
Telford historian Keith Beddoes loaned us this picture of the suspension bridge at Apley Park, on the River Severn, north of Bridgnorth.

He thinks that this must mean that the bridge had only just been built.
He says it was built by David Rowell and Co, Westminster, in 1905 to connect the Apley estate to Linley Station on the SVR line.
The photo is a Wilding's postcard franked at Bridgnorth on October 3, 1907. The message was: "Dear mother, going on fine, me and Sally (? the writing is difficult to read) have been through this park today. Esther."
It was posted to Miss Morris, Fernleigh, Bassett Road (?), Darlaston.
