More rain is poised to hit England and Wales today, but forecasters have calmed fears of possible flooding.

With heavy rain predicted overnight there were concerns that parts of Britain could flood.

Shropshire Star weatherman John Warner said: "A more drizzly rain is due later on Wednesday and it's going to be quite a warm, sultry day on Thursday.

"It's unsettled really for the next week."
