Up to 30 vintage vehicles will take to roads around Himley Hall, near Dudley, before going to Tenbury Wells, Worcestershire, finishing at Dudmaston House, Bridgnorth, Shropshire, on the June 24 ride.

Cars such as a BMW bubble car, Triumph Stags, an MG, and two Capris are gearing up for the event – in memory of Dawn Byng, of Gornal, Dudley, the wife of club member Steve. She died about 18 months ago.

They will raise money for The Georgina Ward at Dudley's Russells Hall Hospital where she was treated.

Organiser Terry Dyke, 66, of Codsall, near Wolverhampton, said: "We are hoping that the event will raise about £1,000.

"It will be £6 to enter and at the moment we are expecting between 25 and 30 cars. People don't have to be a member of the club to take part but just enjoy motors."

The Black Country Classic Car Club has 60 members and formed about four years ago. Its members go across the country to display their cars at a number of shows.
