Morning radio DJ hopes for win

Oswestry and Ellesmere's radio station is in the running for a regional award.

The Severn Radio's Breakfast show DJ Ben Day is competing amongst his radio rivals in a national online poll to find the most popular breakfast show in the Midlands.

Ben, whose show goes out each weekday between 6am and 10am, is delighted to have been included in the poll.

And he revealed today that he was already in the top three in the poll.

"It has been organised by a group of radio enthusiasts called Merry Media, who are compiling a poll for each region," he said.

"I think it is a great idea. I have the most loyal, creative and fun bunch of listeners that anyone could hope for and I am hoping they will show their support by voting via The Severn's website."
