Absentee landlords a problem
Comments attributed to John Tandy (our prospective Labour parliamentary candidate) concerning the sale of every affordable homes at a new development at Sutton to a private landlord made me smile.

Of course it's morally wrong John. Of course it prevents our youngsters from getting onto the property ladder - but this explosion of buy-to-let merchants is not unique to Sutton.
Many of us who have worked hard all of our lives and aspired to property ownership in areas such as Belle Vue are devastated to find that absentee landlords have purchased adjacent family properties and let them via multiple occupancy to tenants who create havoc, take no care of the garden or weekly rubbish removal and bring parking chaos to the area.
None of this directly effects the absentee landlord John but it ruins our quality of life. I hope you will voice our concerns canvassing at the next general election.
