Disabled parking a problem
I am a community support worker and took two of my disabled clients to the town centre shopping. It took 15 minutes to find a disabled parking space - this is a problem most weeks.

When we were leaving the centre, I put the paid ticket into the machine which asked me for another 50p I pressed the button to speak, the man said I had taken 20 minutes to leave and needed to pay, I refused and we sat in our car for a further 10 minutes before they lifted the barrier and let us go.
When I explained I have a wheelchair user, another who walks with the aide of a stick and a shopping trolley to take back, he said I should do all these things and then go and pay for the time spent at the centre.
I would suggest the centre's new owners look at how they could improve the disabled car parking area and place the area nearer to the main entrance instead of trying to make more money from the vulnerable.
