Crash man was set to marry

A Stourbridge motorcyclist killed in a crash with a car on the A38 at Droitwhich was due to get married in Las Vegas this year, it was revealed today.

Perry Salmon, aged 42, of Church Road, Oldswinford, died after a collision with a car on the Roman Way road this month.

The tragedy happened just months before Perry was due to marry his partner Amanda Downes in a dream wedding in America in October.

The tool-maker at Doncasters Precision Castings, Droitwich, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Selley Oak, after the crash on July 12.

Only two days before his death, Perry, who had recently passed his police advanced riding course, and Amanda had returned from Mallorca after their first overseas holiday together.

"He could not wait to show off his tan," said Amanda.

Perry's funeral will take place at Worcester Crematorium at 12noon on July 24. Non-family mourners have been requested to make a contribution to the Air Ambulance service.

South Worcestershire Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision, which occurred at approximately 5.30pm. Call 08457 444 888, quoting 585S/120707.
