During 2001-2004 all the residents of Church Stretton and its hinterland were asked at numerous meetings, and by the completion of questionnaires, what they saw as their needs.

All these views were collated in a Strategic Action Plan produced in 2004, which has been acted upon ever since. Yet annually we are invited to Let's Talk meetings to say what we want.

Most of the minor projects have been successfully completed but the three major needs identified were affordable housing, jobs and, leisure and recreational facilities.

Clearly affordable housing would kickstart the need for the other two but despite promises, and the identification of sites in the town, not a brick has been laid in three years.

I say let's have less talk and more action.
