iPhone if I want to

First things first. Let's get the formalities out of the way. I am Tom Moore, the new video journalist at the Shropshire Star.

I am going to be writing for the website in this, the technology blog. I am not much of a writer so please please bear with me, I plan to get better.

Ok, ok. That's enough waffling let's get down to business. I have just graduated from University in Stoke on Trent where I am now living with my wife Sarah and daughter Tiegan with our second child on the way, in January.

The reason I am writing a technology blog is for my love of all things gadgety.

I am like a kid at Christmas when anyone I know gets a new phone or gadget.

My dad and brother are just as bad and we are all constantly competing to have the best mobile.

My brother is currently winning as he has got the Nokia N95.

My wife has got the new Samsung G600 so I am a bit jealous.

I will reign supreme soon enough when I get the latest must have gadget. The Apple iPhone. (insert fanfare here)

As you will know, the iPhone is so anticipated that some stores are staying open late into the night for the launch.

The phone is revolutionary as it is not only a phone but a full PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) and also an iPod.

It has a massive 8GB of storage whether that be for your music, videos or data.

But not only does it have all these things it is also fully touch screen so all the functions on the phone are operated by either a flick or touch of the screen whether it be scrolling through album covers or finding a contact.

Giving the iPhone a simplistic but stylish clean look with only one visible button which is the home key this button allows you to return to your main screen easily and quickly.

The other great thing about it is its ability to access the internet from anywhere with a Wi Fi hotspot for free or at any other time using O2's the edge high speed mobile internet connection.

However with the iPhone using the EDGE it doesn't limit itself to just mobile enabled websites.

You are able to view full websites just as if you were using your home or office computer. How cool is that?

All in all I think that the iPhone is going to change the way we use our mobile phones and the things that can now be done on them.

But for the iPhone to compete with other smartphones such as the previously mentioned Nokia N95 it should next time incorporate a higher mega pixel camera such as the N95's 5 mega pixel.

It might even include a sat nav capability, as the screen would rival some of the big name sat navs currently on the market today.

However, that is another blog entirely.
