A body found in the River Severn has been identified as missing Stourport man Reginald Southall.

Mr Southall, aged 62, from the Redstone Lane area of Stourport, had been missing for more than a week when the body was discovered by fishermen near the Angel Inn at Severnside, Stourport, on Sunday afternoon.

He had not been seen since the evening of Tuesday December 4 when he was reported missing by his wife after he failed to return home after a walk.

Police said today they were still awaiting the results of post mortem tests and that his death was being treated as unexplained.

Today officers appealed for anyone who might have seen Mr Southall since he went missing to come forward.

At the time of his disappearance he was wearing black jogging bottoms, black shoes and a dark blue jacket with a body warmer.

Anyone who thinks that they may have seen Mr Southall after his disappearance is asked to call police on 08457 444 888.
